As the Dover FreeCycle group owner I thought i would share some great news about our site…

I couldn’t have imagined our small group of Dover residents would have evolved into the Freecycle it is today. Since it’s inception the FreeCycle Network has spread to over 85 countries, where there are thousands of local groups representing millions of members and Dover’s group is a part of keeping over 500 tons a day out of landfills! If you haven’t taken the time to read the history jump on over to the main FreeCycle site and have a read.

For you statisticians out there here are a few numbers for you.

Messages to date: 27,563
Average Yearly
2005: 332 (not bad for 7 months)
2006: 645
2007: 689
2008: 683
2009: 556
5 year Avg: 581

These are some awesome numbers! You all ROCK! If you didn’t realize this yet all messages, members and the like are moderated by only 2 volunteers besides myself, a though job for such a large amount of work given we all have jobs, lives and other pastimes. So remember to thank your moderators by emailing them FreecycleDoverNH-owner@yahoogroups.com

So Dover FreeCycle members I challenge you to RAID YOUR GARAGE, BASEMENT, ATTIC, whatever you can find to pass along to others and KEEP STUFF OUT OF LANDFILLS.
